Gov. Rick Snyder says he's planning a trip to Asia in September in an effort to bring business to Michigan.
Snyder said Thursday that the trade mission to Asia follows on what he considers the success of a fall 2011 trade trip to China, South Korea and Japan.
Snyder says last year's eight-day trip led to new economic developments in Ann Arbor and Saginaw.
The governor says he will take part in an annual meeting of the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association in Minnesota in mid-September, then fly directly to China.
Snyder says details of the trip and who will participate aren't yet determined.
