Freebies For Veterans

Lots of freebies Thursday for veterans.

Big restaurant chains like Applebee's and Chilis are honoring vets with a free meal.

Outback Steakhouse will offer a free bloomin' onion and drink, Little Caesars will hand out bread sticks, and Tim Horton's will give members of the military a free star-spangled donut.

Military ID is required.

Mike, I couldn't care less if they are not thankful, and I don't sit around wondering why--The answer to your question is obvious; since when does anyone personally thank the enemy?? It's interesting though that the places you have listed have thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people living in them that are alive and liberated today because of our military. Trust me Mike, those people are very thankful. Mike, the next time you see a service person, thank them for giving you the freedom to be ignorant.

Hey, Mike, if we can get enough money pooled together, maybe we could send you to all those countries so you could ask them personally, that is if you don't get shot in the face before you even ask your question. I see you're one of those types that likes to criticize the military but obviously forget that the reason your mean-spirited self can even post your rude response on this website is because so many of them have fought and even died so that you can do so. It's not a collective of soldiers who start wars to fight, it's their governments, and they make a choice so many of us don't have the bravery or ability to make. I hope maybe, next time, you'll start to appreciate the people and not verbally punish them for following orders and think before you insult people you don't even know.

Mike, I'm curious as to why you felt the need to come rain on this parade. You cannot blame all the veterans who have fought for the atrocities of their governments or those soldiers who have "gone rogue". You seem to forget the millions of American men and women who have given their lives so you can sit behind your keyboard and type ignorant, vitriolic things all you want. I wouldn't be quite as concerned about those other countries in this regard and thank the people who have died ON YOUR BEHALF so you have the freedom to be a jerk.

There are some people not thanking our Vets, Koreans, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians, Grenadians, Panamanians, Yugoslavs, Serbians, Afghans, Iraqis, Somalis, Yemenis, and Pakistanis. Wonder why?

I truly believe in the little things, and these little things are nice honors to bestow on those who have fought to try and protect our freedom. Thanks to all who have served, and kudos to these businesses who have chosen to show them gratitude in their own special ways.
