Military veterans who are eligible for 100 percent disability now can get free entry into any of Michigan's state parks.
Waiver of the $11 annual state park Recreation Passport fee also applies to veterans who were prisoners of war and Medal of Honor recipients.
Vehicles entering the parks have to be licensed to veterans eligible under bills signed Friday by Gov. Rick Snyder.
The Michigan Secretary of State's office says that as of November there were 7,642 disabled veteran, 426 former POW and two specialty Medal of Honor license plates issued in Michigan that were eligible for the free passport endorsement.
