A Fowlerville woman is dead and two others are in serious condition after a head on collision on Mason Road in Howell Township.

Police say 75-year-old Freida Merry was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her mini van and hit a Honda CRV head on.

Merry was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband and front seat passenger, Robert Merry, was transported to U of M Hospital where he was last listed in serious condition.

The driver of the Honda CRV, Judith Walsh, also of Fowlerville, is also at U of M Hospital where she was last listed in serious condition.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department says that speed and poor road conditions appear to have contributed to the crash. All three people were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
