MOUNT MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Four people in the Flint area have been charged with murder in a five-year-old arson that killed two people.
The Flint Journal says charges were filed in September, about five years to the day when Kokona Vaughn and her 7-year-old daughter were trapped by fire on the third floor of an apartment building in Mount Morris Township.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says the four defendants are members of the Pierson Hood gang. He says they wanted to kill a rival but the rival wasn't in the building. The foe was killed the next day.
The prosecutor won't say what new information led to the arrests.
