JACKSON - Police in Jackson use footprints in the snow to help track and catch a robbery suspect. Jackson police say a 45 year old man, currently on parole, used a BB gun to commit the armed robbery. They say at about 2:15am Thursday the man punched a clerk outside the Admiral gas station at 250 W. Prospect Street. The man walked the clerk back into the gas station with a gun pressed into the clerk's back. Police say the man then took money from the cash register and fled on foot.

Police followed the footprints in the snow and used a dog to track to a house in the 1300 bock of Williams Street. Officers surrounded the house and made entry. Police say they found the man hiding in a bedroom closet. They recovered cash and the handgun, which turned out to be a BB gun. The suspect had been on parole.
