LANSING - The lead was flying in southwest Lansing Monday night. Lansing police tell News 10 that two sets of two people are complaining that the other pair took some shots at them. After interviewing each party, Lansing police say that the four people involved had decided to meet at by a convenience store in the 4800 block of South Waverly Road at 8 o'clock to discuss an issue involving stolen property. That discussion deteriorated into a fight and a report of shots being fired, but no one being hurt.
Then, at approximately 9:45PM, one of the parties, who lives nearby in the 2600 block of Greenbelt Drive had his apartment shot up. About an hour later, an apartment in the 3900 block of Burneway Drive off Waverly had shots fired into it. That apartment belonged to one of the men on the other side of this dispute. No one was injured in either shooting.
Police know the names of the people involved and are continuing their investigation. No charges have been filed yet.

It's not so much the city as the people who live in it.

I couldn't agree more strongly with James...Lansing is deteriorating BIGTIME! I think Lansing is becoming DeFlint (a cross between Detroit and Flint). Walk down Logan Street (I still call it Logan Street out of protest) and look at the wanna-be gang punks with their baggy pants around their butts--when I'm out and about I'm ALWAYS looking over my shoulder. I have my concealed carry permit and "don't leave home without it" thanks to all the shootings in this town. The surface of the moon has smoother roads than Lansing and it seems like every other business is folding on any given streetcorner. I'm looking for a new job and moving from this pit of a city as soon as possible--that's a sad attitude to have about Michigan's capital.

Recently, I had a friend of mine who visited Lansing for the first time in his life. When we went downtown, the first thing out of his mouth was "what a dump of a city you live in James".. I also agree with Bob. The mayor and his minions takes a trip to India on the taxpayers dollar, yet makes cuts in our police department!..India?? Comon Mayor, GET REAL. This city has already become little Detroit and all you seem to care about is installing a sidewalk? Not having enough police officers in Lansing will cost this city more than we can imagine, and I'm not talking about dollars.

What in the world are we going to do, when the Mayor cuts our Police Force. It is not safe to go anywhere in Lansing any more. I know, lets build some more Sidewalks and Bike Lanes!! That will make all of us much more Safer and not have to worry about walking in the Streets or Riding our Bikes in the Streets. What a Dumb A##!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
