Owosso Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene after a fatal accident shortly after noon.

Director of Public Safety Michael Compeau says two drivers were drag racing in pickup trucks northbound on Shiawassee Street, when a car pulled left in front of them.

He says the 55-year-old man likely misjudged the trucks' speed and was killed when he was broadsided.

The driver in that truck received non-life threatening injuries.
Public Safety officers are searching for the other driver, who fled the scene.

Witnesses say the driver was in a white pickup truck, likely a GMC S10 or a similar Ford truck, likely from the 1990s or early 2000s.
The truck has a Monster drink sticker on the back window.

Director Compeau is asking anyone with information to call Shiawassee County Central Dispatch at (989) 743-9111.
