"Kids are naturally really curious people," says Lansing Schools Superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul.
Emergent BioSolutions donated thousands of dollars worth of science supplies to two local schools Thursday.
Lansing's Sheridan Road Elementary and Sexton High School were the recipients of laptops and other supplies.
Students at the high school will get to use the laptops, while the microscopes and other lab equipment will help younger kids learn.
"Kids are naturally really curious people, and so having a scientific focus in school is really important to get those curiosity juices going," says Lansing Schools Superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul.
The head of Emergent BioSolutions says the company made the donation to help encourage students to choose a career in the sciences.
