DETROIT (AP) -- Police say a Detroit city bus crashed into a building after being hit by a sport utility vehicle, sending six people to hospitals.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens tells The Associated Press the crash happened about 8:45 p.m. Thursday. She says the SUV was carrying four teenage girls, and they were detained afterward.
Stephens says the bus driver was in temporary serious condition. She says the others taken to hospitals reported having injuries.
WWJ-AM reports the driver had been trapped in the bus. WDIV-TV reports the building that was struck houses The Palms nightclub. Stephens says no one inside the building was injured.
