LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Michigan Recycling Coalition is hosting a competition to determine which business or nonprofit organization has the best recycling program in the state.
The deadline to complete an application is Wednesday.
The MRC says the award will be given during the group's annual conference in East Lansing this May.
Awards subcommittee chairwoman Lori Miller says the Michigan Recycling Coalition "is looking for the best of the best."
Criteria being considered include longevity of program; impact on community; innovation; demonstrated or potential cost savings; demonstrated or potential diversion; education and outreach and potential for use as a model.
An application can be found on the MRC's website.
