A couple of DeWitt teenagers are being called heroes after a daring rescue in Florida.

Cody Decker and Luke Vaughn are on spring break in Palm Coast, just north of Daytona Beach. Their quick thinking saved the lives of a couple on Tuesday.

It was about 1AM when Decker and Vaughn saw a Jaguar car roll over , hit two trees and catch fire. They immediately jumped into action. According to The Daytona Beach News Journal, the pair broke the windows of the car and were able to bend a door frame to pull the couple to safety.

The fire chief says if it weren't for Decker and Vaughn the couple wouldn't be alive today. They will be honored at a special ceremony on Thursday.

This is another reason why we need to bring back manners and parental involvement back to schools. These two gentlemen did what everyone should have done if they were in a similar situation. They helped out.

good, i hope then the 13 year old being tried now for the murder of a Lansing teenager gets life. Ya going to do the crime then do the time, no matter what. You don't see Al Sharpton, or Jessie Jackson coming to the family of the white girl, killed by a afican american young man do ya, WHAT's THE DIFFERENCE from the Florida case, shoes reversed. No wonder there is such a division in our cultures.

Wow! Broke the windows and bent the door frame to free them WHILE the car was burning. Now THAT's a rescue. In a time when we seriously question the direction of our youth, I find this act incredibly brave and refreshing. Furthermore, they were on Spring Break. Hat's off to these young men!

What a couple of admirable young men! It is so touching and reassuring to hear of such selflessness! When it seems that all we ever hear about is tragedy and crime--along comes something like this that warms my heart!
