LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan is using new tools to share up-to-date deer information during the firearm deer season that starts Monday.
A deer website was created in partnership with the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University. It covers hunting regulations, deer research and other topics, and can be found at http://deer.fw.msu.edu.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment's Wildlife Division also aims to help hunters by providing short, timely Twitter updates on hunting conditions and experiences during the two weeks of firearm deer season.
Wildlife Division staff working in the field and at deer check stations will provide the tweets, which will carry the hashtag, "MIdeer2010."
