LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment is seeking information about the illegal killing of a bull elk in Montmorency County.
The elk was shot near County Road 622 and East Branch Road around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
The agency says witnesses saw a newer, gray Toyota Land Cruiser with a Michigan license plate leaving the area. DNRE law enforcement officials want to talk with the occupants of the vehicle.
Anyone with information regarding the poaching can call the DNRE's 24-hour "Report All Poaching Line" at (800) 292-7800.
