Four people escape a burning home in Mason.
Flames broke out just after 2:30 Friday morning on west Columbia road.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the back. Everyone inside got out safely along with two pets. A third dog died.
Mason's fire chief tells us one of the residents did suffer burns to the hand, but is OK.
The family is staying with relatives. He says there is a lot of smoke and heat damage, but the house is not a total loss.
No word on what started the fire, but investigators will be focusing on the laundry room when they return to the scene later this morning.
