Court Green Lights TP Cover Lawsuit

A Monroe County woman whose hand was broken by a toilet paper dispenser during a New Year's Eve dinner will get a chance to sue the restaurant.
The case is greatly dividing the Michigan Supreme Court. The court's liberal majority says a jury should decide whether the dispenser created an unreasonable risk of harm at Texas Roadhouse in Taylor.
The court's three conservative justices say there should be no liability for ordinary accidents.
Sheri Schooley says it's a "bizarre story." She was reaching for toilet paper when the cover on the dispenser fell on her right hand, breaking it in 2007.
The 58-year-old South Rockwood woman says she can't work anymore. Schooley says her bowling average dropped by 40 pins after she was forced to switch to her left hand.

I have to agree with her. So many places, these stupid oversized dispensers have broken locks or aren't closed & locked properly & fall open when you try to get paper. I have ended up with a large bruise but thankfully, never a broken hand. Also, the rolls are so large, they hardly roll to release the paper. Who designed these things & talked so many business into buying them? I also have some issues with the variety of annoying paper towel dispensers, auto flushers, & auto soap dispensers. Going to the bathroom shouldn't be such a hassle.

Seriously?? Her bowling averaged dropped?? What a major concern. This is a prime reason why the legal system is out out whack. It was an accident, weird and freakish but still an accident. She should check her priorities. She can't work but she can still bowl, with some adjustments??? Use those same adjustments and go back to work!!!!!
