HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Hope College's new music center will have a custom-built concert pipe organ thanks to a Holland donor.
MLive.com and The Holland Sentinel report that the Casavant Brothers organ will be installed in the $35 million Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The organ will be built by Casavant FrFres of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, which has built organs for venues throughout the world.
David Roossien's gift will provide for the organ when the center opens in 2015. The organ will have 3,092 pipes.
The Miller Center is being built in honor of Jack H. Miller, a Hope College graduate who led Howard Miller Co. for 48 years.
