ST. JOHNS - Bus drivers in Clinton County have a lot to be proud of. The drivers of the Clinton Area Transit System won Michigan's annual bus "roadeo" competition for the fifth year in a row. One of their drivers, Dan Miller, took home the individual top driver award for the second time.
17 public transit systems from across Michigan took part in the competition in Mt. Pleasant on July 20th. Drivers competed for points based on a written test, their driving skills on an obstacle course, a test to load and unload a wheelchair passenger, and a pre-trip vehicle inspection.
The top three individual winners are eligible to compete in the national competition next spring at the Community Transportation Association Annual National Bus Roadeo held during its annual expo.
