IONIA, Mich. (AP) -- Members of Civil Air Patrol Ionia Flight MI-222 are helping to sell tax-deductible wreaths for placement on the graves of U.S. war veterans over the coming holiday season.
The Civil Air Patrol is partnering with the nonprofit Wreaths Across America on the annual project.
Wreaths Across America recognizes the courage and sacrifices made by U.S. military veterans.
Wreaths ordered through the project will be placed on the graves of local veterans during a public Dec. 15 remembrance ceremony in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Ionia.
The nonprofit Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
