Canada Bridge Bill Coming Soon

A bill in support of a new bridge to Canada will soon be introduced.

Just two days after Governor Rick Snyder announced his support of a bridge from Michigan to Windsor, Ontario, a democratic state lawmaker jumps into action.

Senator Hoon-Yung Hopgood of Taylor says he'll sponsor the bill.

The idea doesn't have complete support. Some republicans and owners of the Ambassador Bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor are opposed to it.

The last time I crossed the Ambassador Bridge, which was a few years ago, I thought they already charged a toll. You pay first and they would give you a stupid scratch off ticket, then you cross and customs is on the other end.

The new bridge will have a toll charged for all using. Most bridges don't.It's all about money, and who profits. Why not do both?Gov don't look at it that way.

Hey, when the 2nd bridge opens, Canada can block off the Detroit side of the tunnel and start back-filling it with garbage.

How about instead of building a new bridge that we don't NEED, we start doing some necessary repairs to our current bridges, roads and rail system. Spend the money on current problems with our infrastructure. If we did that I'll bet we could put 10,000 more people to work. This is one recommendation from MITA that we can do without!
