Authorities have filed drunken driving charges against a western Michigan school bus driver they say had five beers at a bar, then left to pick up a load of students at a mall.
Coloma School District driver Jennifer Moore was arrested Friday and arraigned Monday in Portage.
In answer to the judge's question, the 47-year-old Coloma resident said she hadn't thought of herself as an alcoholic, but now isn't sure.
WWMT-TV reports people at Brann's Restaurant saw Moore pull in with her bus and start drinking.
The Herald-Palladium of St. Joseph says she then left to pick up 36 middle school honor students on a field trip. It says her blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit for driving in Michigan.
The district has fired Moore.
