Authorities say they recovered the burned body of a man in front of a charred building on Detroit's east side.
Detroit Police spokesman Yvette Walker said the unidentified body was found Monday morning and taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The Detroit News reports the body was found on a snow-covered berm between the sidewalk and the street. It was in front of burned-out building in an area with many other burned structures and vacant lots.
The Detroit Free Press reports a 911 call alerted police to the body about 9:15 a.m.
