A dog license also proves that the dog is up to date with its rabies vaccinations, and that the dog legally belongs to someone. A signed certificate of a rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian is required to purchase a dog license. There is also the option for a three year dog license, which requires a three year vaccination certificate. Prices differ depending on if a dog is sterilized or not. Licenses will expire after one year, at the end of the month during which the original rabies vaccination was given.
