HOLMES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Police investigating a report of an abandoned pickup truck in Michigan's Upper Peninsula found the body of a missing 81-year-old Wisconsin man nearby.
Michigan State Police say in a statement that they were called Sunday night to the vehicle that was stuck in a mud hole off a roadway in Menominee County's Holmes Township. Police say they found the body of Norbert W. Brunette of Beecher in a nearby wooded area.
Police say Brunette had been missing and believed endangered since Thursday, and the truck belonged to him. His family had told authorities he had dementia and depression.
The circumstances of his death were under investigation Monday. Holmes Township is located near the Michigan-Wisconsin border.
