Police have identified a decomposed body found in a Livingston County lake as that of a teenage boy who vanished nearly two years ago.
Lt. Brian DeNoyer of the Hamburg Township Police Department says Chad Austin Killen's body was identified using dental records. Killen was 17 when he was last seen May 21, 2009. His remains were found Thursday in Murray Lake by a kayaker.
DeNoyer says it may never be known how Killen died. He tells the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell that the medical examiner does not suspect foul play.
A 2009 Michigan State Police statement says Killen was last seen fleeing into a wooded area in Green Oak Township after "being confronted by family members" who attempted to get him to return home.
