More than $10,000 in cash was taken along with drug records, computers, drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of equipment including grow lamps, ballasts and timers.

With a pot store on every streetcorner in Lansing, why would anyone have the need to try and grow their own? All the local potheads need to do is walk into any friendly neighborhood dope-a-torium here in the city and tell the pothead behind the counter that they have a headache and they can get some pot. How stupid of these people to grow it themselves...maybe they should have opened their own pot store from their homes--think of the tax deductions!!!

FYI--Impossible to grow $700,000 of pot in a house. These reporters are regergatating whatever they're told. Indoor plants will yield between 1/2 to 4 ounces each with a value of $200 an ounce, unless you plan to sell it by the gram, which again you can't do if you're growing 300 plants. It takes around 3-4 months to finish a crop. So, do the math. 300plantsx1 ounce@$200each=$60,000 in four months. That's if this guy is working 80 hours a week to maintain it properly. Yes its very hard work if you want to get anything worth selling. furthermore, with that many plants grown in dirt he'd be lucky to get an ounce per plant...

You are not adding up the cost of the equipment to grow and other items seized. I am sure with your grow knowledge it aint cheap to buy lights etc..
