Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero is set to make a major announcement regarding the area just south of Frandor.
Bernero, together with officials from MSU, East Lansing, and the business community will move forward with plans for a major revitilization.
Parts of the Old Red Cedar golf course will be sold for business development, the rest turned into green space.
Plans are also on the table to build a new system of ponds to help clean the dirty rainwater flowing into the Red Cedar river.
The mayor believes the land is under-utilized and sees great potential for the population base.

Since the city has no money, just where is the city getting the money to do all this? Oh their selling part of a golf course to pay for it. Meanwhile city workers are part time, and Virg just laid off how many people? Shame on Virg and the entire city council.

Full disclosure on where the money is coming from for this unnecessary project is expected. There better not be a single dollar of general fund money used for this. If there is, shame on the city for placing more value on this project than our fire, police and public service employees!!!

Ahh yes. I kind of figured Ferguson and Hollister were at the Mayors press conference for a reason. Must be the heat has died down from the State Police building fiasco, so they figure it is time to milk the taxpayers once again. The LAST thing that is needed for this area near Frandor is even more buildings to sit empty after being built! Thank You. Ricardo
