Virg Bernero will now be continuing out the rest of his term as Lansing's Mayor, after he concedes Tuesday night to the race for Governor.

"It was a fight, my friends, worth fighting. It was a good fight. But it was not our time," Bernero says.

Bernro faces the fact he will not be Michigan's next governor. As he tells his supporters of his congratulatory call to Rick Snyder, he asks them not to be angry at the outcome.

"I offered my full support as he transitions into office and I wish him and his family the best as they take on this enormous challenge, and I know you wish them the best as well," Bernero says. "But congratulations also goes to you. You were the heart of this effort from start to finish. The way you fought was inspirational. I'll always be proud of the campaign we ran this year, proud of your determination and your passion."

Bernero did not stick around after his concession speech to speak to reporters; he made a quick exit, after what's been a long campaign.
