LANSING - Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero is going to run again-- for mayor. Bernero will make his official re-election campaign announcement Friday. Bernero has been Lansing's mayor for two terms, winning election in 2005, and again in 2009.

The mayor's chief of staff told News 10 earlier this week that Bernero would not run for a state-wide office. Mayor Bernero was the Michigan Democratic Party's nominee for Governor in 2010, losing to Republican Rick Snyder.

WILX will be at the mayor's re-election announcement Friday. Watch News 10 Friday for more details on the mayor's re-election campaign.

Sorry, but I don't think we need another term. With himm we have less police and fire, higher taxes, and now there is talk that his new budget includes a fee for water and electric use, and another for daring to call the police for a non emergency reason. Let us no forget he wants to sell City Hall, and any other city owned property he can. If he had his way Lansing would be the only city with NO public parks.

Please, no more Virg. Of course back in 09 he said he would not run for Governor and he did. 8 yrs of this man is enough.
