Baseball Suspends 13 Players

Major League baseball suspended 12 more players Monday for illegal drug use through the now closed Bio Genesis Clinic in Miami. The Yankees' Alex Rodriguez was suspended through the 2014 season but reportedly wikll play at Chicago against the White Sox Monday night while his appeal is heard. All of the other players, including the Detroit Tigers' shortstop Jhonny Peralta, have accepted their 50-game bans.
Peralta issued a statement saying he made a "terrible mistake" in 2012 and he accepts his suspension and apologizes for his actions. The Tigers open a four game series among Central Division leaders Monday night at Cleveland.
