Lansing City Council members proposed a budget amendment Friday that could force Board of Water & Light to make higher revenue payments to the city.
BWL spokesperson Steve Serkaian said they are going to do anything they can to help the city but also didn't rule out the possibility that higher revenue payments could result in increased rates for customers.
Mayor Virg Bernero is expected to finalize the budget tonight. He can either approve or veto the amended budget presented by council on Friday.
We'll have more on this tonight on WILX News 10 at 6.
