Auto Window Smashings, Arson in Jackson Co.

SANDSTONE TWP, JACKSON CO. - Troopers from the Michigan State Police say they are investigating several complaints to damaged property in Jackson County's Sandstone Township. During the week of July 15th through July 19th, several parked vehicles were had they windows smashed. Troopers say on one occasion, a victim stated they were driving west bound on County Farm Road near Gardner Road when a teenager threw an object at the victim's windshield causing severe damage. The victim says the teen was a white male hanging out the passenger side window of a black truck or van.

Troopers from the Jackson Post are also investigating an arson in Sandstone Township. On July 21st (Sunday) at approximately 1:30 a.m. a fire was set to a construction trailer and construction equipment located on West Michigan Avenue near Dearing Road.

Anyone having information about either of these crimes is asked contact the Michigan State Police Jackson Post at 517-780-4580.

People can also call the Arson tip line at 1-800-44-ARSON. A reward of up to $5,000.00 is possible if the tip leads to the arrest and/or conviction the person responsible for the arson.
