Authorities Investigating Early Morning Fire

A fire at a vacant building in Jackson County's Summit Township is under investigation.

Heavy smoke coming from the old Nash Systems Company" on South Street was reported just after midnight Friday.

Jackson firefighters responded to the call. They say, at one time, medical marijuana was grown in the building, however it was vacant Friday.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze.

The state fire marshal is now investigating how it started.
