Armed Robbery At Weatherwax Pharmacy in Brooklyn

The Columbia Township Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Weatherwax Pharmacy at 105 N. Main St., in the Village of Brooklyn.

The suspect had entered the business, brandished a pistol, and demanded Oxycontin (a prescription strength narcotic) from the employees present. The suspect pointed the pistol at both the employees present, and they then gave him what he demanded. He then fled the business, and was last observed on foot northbound on Water St.

Assisting at the scene were Napoleon Township Police and the Michigan State Police, as well a K-9 officer from the City of Jackson, and a deputy from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

There were no injuries, and the suspect was tracked by the K-9 unit to the area of School and Water St. The suspect had his face concealed and is believed to be a white male in his 20’s, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall, slender build.
