An Amtrak train headed toward Chicago has come to a stop due to this morning's fire at the Citizens Grain Elevator on North Cochran Road in Charlotte.

Amtrak tells us charter buses are being brought in to take the more than 250 passengers to Battle Creek where they can catch a train to Chicago.

Train traffic has come to a stop because the tracks run right through the area where firefighters are.

We're working on this story throughout the day and will have more updates as they become available on and and News 10 at 5 and 6.
