Major U.S. airlines are raising prices again.
American Airlines raised fares on flights within the 48 contiguous states by $10 per round trip, spokesman Tim Smith confirmed on Thursday.
United, Continental and US Airways matched the increase and Delta boosted fares even higher -- up between $10 and $20 per round trip -- according to Rick Seaney, CEO of FareCompare.com. Airlines say they need higher fares to cover rising jet fuel prices.
