After Delays, Marketplace Riverfront Development Underway

Groundbreaking work began today on a long-awaited downtown riverfront development that has been delayed for more than four years.

Today marked the official start to site clean-up and construction on a downtown riverfront development that has been in the works for years.

The Marketplace development, being developed by Pat Gillespie, is slated to be a mixed-use facility to be built on the site of the old Lansing city market.

Bob Trezise of the the Lansing Economic Area partnership described this development as a catalyst for future riverfront projects.

WILX News 10 tonight at 6pm will have more on the details of the project and what it means for the future of development of revitalization projects in Lansing.
