The intersection of Holt and Dietz Roads in Ingham County's Leroy Township is shut down Thursday afternoon as State Police investigate an accident.

Police on scene tell us two vehicles were involved-- a pick-up and a semi. Both drivers were injured--- the one in the pick-up has already been taken to the hospital, while firefighters are working to rescue the trapped driver in the semi. A helicopter is also on scene, waiting to take away the driver.

We have a crew there and will keep you updated on the situation.

One year ago, August 2, 2012 to be exact, my niece was killed by a semi that ran through the stop sign at that same intersection. I think it is past time for the county to look into making this intersection safer.

Lost my sister in law in this intersection...wasn't the first accident and won't be the last. Funny that today I finally got the nerve to drive through this intersection for the first time since last August 2011! NOW can we have a light there?????
