DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- A Dearborn spokeswoman says three workers have been hurt in an explosion at a steel plant in the suburban Detroit city.
Mary Laundroche (LAWN'-drohsh) says of the three, two were thought to have suffered first- or second-degree burns. One of the injured employees was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital and two were taken to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.
Laundroche says there's no danger of any further explosions Friday at the Severstal North America plant.
Severstal spokeswoman Marika Diamond says the workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of a "minor reaction" in the basic oxygen furnace area.
She says the cause isn't known, and the company is investigating.
