FERNDALE, Mich (AP) -- Two teens accused of shooting at a man and stealing his 12-pack of beer in Ferndale have been charged.
Seventeen-year-old Louis J. Hairston and 18-year-old Deonte D. Dawson pleaded not guilty during their arraignment Monday in Ferndale District Court. Court officials did not immediately know if they had a lawyer.
The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak says Hairston faces charges including assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and felony firearm charges. He remains jailed on $1 million bond. Dawson is charged with armed robbery and is being held on $50,000 bond.
Police said the suspects confronted the 45-year-old victim about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Detroit suburb, pointed a gun at his head and fired, but missed.
A pre-exam conference is scheduled for Dec. 2.
