House Education Committee Lifts Pause on Common Core

With an 11-5 vote, the House Education Committee lifted the pause on the implementation of Common Core standards, Thursday.

The passed resolution addressed concerns over local curriculum control and testing. The next step is a vote by the full House, which is expected to take place, this afternoon.

Common Core would put new Math and English standards into place for Michigan students.
