An 18-year-old West Michigan man will serve 28 to 52 years in prison for the shooting death of a Muskegon Community College nursing student over what prosecutors say was $200 in financial aid money.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports that Antonio Ramsey was sentenced Friday in Muskegon County 14th Circuit Court.
A jury convicted Ramsey in December in the 2009 slaying of Andrea Parnell. Parnell was shot three times in the back of the head. She was the mother of a 15-month-old girl.
Judge Timothy Hicks denied a motion by Ramsey's attorney to overturn the conviction.
