FLINT, Mich. (AP) -- A 14-year-old has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a 73-year-old woman at her Flint home.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says Friday the Flint teen is being charged as an adult in Wednesday's shooting death of Merlyne Wray.

Police say she was killed during a robbery. Charges include open murder, felony murder, armed robbery and carjacking. The murder charges are punishable by life in prison without parole upon conviction.

Leyton's office says a 16-year-old who was with the 14-year-old when he was arrested Wednesday night is being held as a juvenile pending further investigation.

Police say they were in Wray's stolen vehicle.

From what I have gathered from many people, Flint is MUCH, MUCH worse than Detroit. This state would be better off without Flint, Detroit, Muskegon, and Benton Harbor.
