Crews have estimated 126,000 gallons of gasoline leaked from the Marathon Pipeline storage tank in Ingham County's White Oak Township.

Estimates from Marathon Pipeline personnel also say 6,000 gallons of the gasoline that leaked has been collected. The leak was caused by a faulty gasket on a gas line running to a holding tank.

As for the cleanup, crews are continuing to collect contaminants from the ground and searching the ground to determine the area of contamination.

According to the U.S. EPA, a small sheen has appeared in the Bauer Drain because of Tuesday night's storms. Booms and recovery wells have been set up to tackle the issue.

Water testing is on-going, but has not show any contamination to the drinking water in the area. Residents still concerned with water safety can make well sampling requests by calling the Marathon Woodhaven Station at 734-676-7775.
