Police in northern Lower Michigan are relying on video footage and public feedback to identify two suspects with a penchant for change in a spate of vending machine heists.

Traverse City police and Grand Traverse sheriff's deputies responded this week to at least three overnight complaints from local hotels and resorts where suspects broke into several coin-operated devices.

Police say an undisclosed amount of money has been stolen from vending machines and arcade games at the Bayshore Resort and Days Inn in Traverse City, and the Great Wolf Lodge in Garfield Township.

Detective Sgt. Joseph McCarthy tells the Traverse City Record-Eagle surveillance footage from one of the locations shows two men approaching a machine and prying it open with a tool.
