Attendance means more than usual at classrooms across the state Wednesday --- it's Count Day.

The state will use Wednesday's attendance numbers to determine how much funding each public school receives. Given all of the recent cuts districts have had to make, they say they need every penny.

Seventy-five percent of per pupil funding will be determined by Wednesday's attendance numbers. The remaining twenty-five percent is calculated at a second count day in February.
