Wife Cleared In Husband's Death

Authorities say a Detroit-area lawyer's death that led to a murder charge against his wife was not a homicide.

The Oakland County medical examiner says Lloyd Johnson's death was related to an old boating accident.

L.J. Dragovic says Johnson had an open wound on his lower back, the result of an oar piercing him there. He says Johnson weighed 413 pounds and had other health problems, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Johnson died last week. His wife, Laura, was charged with second-degree murder, but authorities released her from jail Monday after the funeral. Defense attorney John Williams hopes charges now will be dismissed.

He says the autopsy "vindicated" Laura Johnson.
