A pilot makes an emergency landing after his engine dies in Vevay Township.
It happened Friday afternoon at Mason Jewett Field.
Police say the plane's engine died just after takeoff. He was 50 to 100 feet in the air.
The pilot was able to turn around and land about 40 yards away from the runway. Airport pilots say they were impressed that he didn't nosedive...which could have resulted in life-threatening injuries.
No word yet on the damage to the plane. The Inhgam County Sheriff's office is investigating.
