A pilot is hospitalized after putting his plane down in a bean field near Mason. Ingham County Sheriff's Deputies tell wilx.com the plane's engine failed while taking off from Mason Jewett Air Field. The pilot was able to turn around and make a soft landing near the runway. The FAA is investigating the incident. There's no word yet on the pilot's injuries.
