Leadership Changes in Waverly School District

Leadership changes in the Waverly Community Schools were announced in the wake of performance problems at its Middle School.

Michael Moreno will be the new principal at Waverly Middle School. Moreno has been in the Waverly system since 2000 as a teacher and administrator. Most recently, he was the principal of East Intermediate School.

The middle school is one of the lowest performing schools in Michigan. The state demanded changes or threatened to take the school over. One of the options was to change leadership at the school.

Vince Perkins will be replaced as principal at the middle school and he will be reassigned as principal of the high school.

The High School got rid of a horrible principal. This could work out. Perkins doesn't teach the kids.

Wow, I can't believe Vince is being allowed to run any school in the district since the last one he ran became the worst in the state.
